Trial Helicopter Lesson
Explanations cannot come close to the amazing experience of actually flying a helicopter. However be warned, whether it’s for business or pleasure, this remarkable form of transport can become addictive.
Sloane Helicopters can offer you the unique experience of taking the controls of a Robinson R22 or R44 helicopter.
Your trial helicopter lesson will begin with a welcome and introduction to your instructor, who will look after you for the duration of your lesson, followed by a pre-flight briefing, during which the function of the flying controls and the layout of the instruments and switches will be throughly described. With you at ease in the co-pilot seat, your instructor will then start the engine. You will now have 30 minutes of sheer flying excitement ahead.
You will lift off and for the first few minutes the instructor will take the controls, so that you can get used to the distinctive sensation of flying in a helicopter. When you are comfortable, you will be invited to hold the controls and then to take over.
During the flight your instructor can demonstrate the distinguishing characteristics of helicopter flying such as landing in a confined space or an autorotation, which is an unforgettable sensation.
As you walk back to the Flying School to receive your certificate, we guarantee you will have a big smile on your face.
