Private Pilot Licence (Helicopters)
The completion of a Private Pilot Licence (H) will enable you to pilot a helicopter for personal use. The course comprises both practical helicopter flying and the study of a range of theoretical subjects.
Each flight training lesson normally comprises of two hours, with an equal amount of time spent on helicopter flying and briefing. A Private Pilot Licence (H) requires a minimum of 45 hours flying time, which includes 10 hours flying solo. The course is completed by passing a Handling and Navigation Skill Test, conducted by one of our CAA approved flight training examiners.
The flight training Ground School subjects can be learned either self studying in your own time or by one-to-one instruction.
The Private Pilot Licence (H) course is designed to give students the required handling skills of a Robinson R22 or Robinson R44 helicopter, leading towards the achievement of a PPL (H).
