Mountain Flying Training
Sloane’s Flying School are pleased to offer mountain flying training to mountain ranges, including Snowdonia and the Highlands. Mountain flying in a helicopter can be challenging even for the most experienced pilot. These custom-tailored training experiences give pilots an introduction to safe and sound mountain flying techniques, and a better understanding of how to deal effectively with weather conditions in high terrains, and surface airflow in mountainous environments.
London Helicopter Route Training
We are delighted to offer individual London helicopter route training days, designed to enable pilots to experience the excitement of flying in one of our Robinson R22 helicopters (or R44 at an increased cost), along The River Thames and over Heathrow Airport. These experiences will also enable pilots to learn how to manage the increased workload involved with flying and radio procedures, along with helping each individual develop into an experienced and confident helicopter pilot. As Sloane Helicopters is situated slightly North of Luton Airport, the course will begin as you travel through the VFR route towards London zones.
CPL Standardisation Training Course
We are pleased to offer the CPL Standardisation Training Course, which ensures that Flight Instructors (H) who wish to teach Commercial Pilot Licence courses, comply with mandatory examiner practices and appropriate standards made or approved by the CAA.
Advanced Training
We are pleased to offer advanced training for pilots who would like to practice the procedures required during flight in normal and abnormal conditions, including confined area techniques, downwind manoeuvres, emergency procedures, autorotations, engine off landings and forced landings. We can easily tailor a half or full days flying to individuals’ requests, or we can offer structured day packages depending on the pilots experience and needs.

From time to time we at Sloane are also pleased to offer excursion flights to various interesting destinations within the UK and Europe, please keep a look out for further information in the near future.
