Is the facility treated as an ‘off balance sheet’ funding?
Yes, helicopters under our Contract Hire agreement are not recorded as assets on the balance sheet, thus improving company gearing ratios.
Is my rental tax allowable?
Yes, rentals paid are fully deductible against corporation tax.
Is VAT payable on the rentals?
Yes, the rental attracts VAT in full, as it is provision of a service.
How do I claim back the VAT?
Hitachi Capital will furnish you with a rental invoice detailing VAT every month for your returns.
Do I have a ‘cooling off’ period?
Yes, the facility for personal users falls within the Consumer Credit Act provisions.
Can I repay in other currencies?
Yes, you can repay in Sterling, Dollars or Euros.
Is the price fully fixed for the duration, i.e. a 2 or 3 year contract?
Yes, if there are any losses to absorb, we take full responsibility for them.
Are there limits on my usage of the Helicopter?
Yes, you can pre-select your likely usage, usually between the ranges of 100 to 300 hours per annum.
What happens at the end of the term?
You simply hand back the Helicopter, subject to compliance with the documented return conditions.
Can I buy the Helicopter at the end of the term?
Yes, you can submit a sealed bid for the purchase.
What if I lose my licence?
You are still contracted to pay the rentals, in the same way you would be for any finance agreement.
How long does it take to vet my application?
We would expect to have a decision within 5 working days.
Can I have a replacement Helicopter whilst mine is in for service or repairs?
We can arrange for a replacement Helicopter on a ‘price per use’ basis.
